UBCONNECT ACQUIRES OTERA XP
Creating the future telecom vendor
Telecom vendor UBConnect AS acquires Otera XP AS, and is with that one of the biggest vendors in the telecom industry in Norway.
– The telecom operators will in the future demand larger and more complete vendors than what exists in the market today. We are now building the telecom vendor of tomorrow, with the width, size and competence we think the market will demand. The acquisition of Otera XP is strategically important to reach this goal, says CEO Lasse B. Bjørgan in UBConnect (previously UBQ)
UBConnect, with its main office at Vollebekk in Oslo, has their main business’ within fiber development, mobile network development, and technical consulting. Otera XP, with main office at Kalbakken in Oslo, has their strength within mobile network development and supports both Telia and Telenor.
– The companies complement each other well, and together we can offer complete solutions to the market. The companies also combine well on the operative level. We know each other well, since UBConnect has been a subcontractor of Otera XP for several years. A collaboration over many years makes us confident about the competence of the Otera employees, whom now will become employees of UBConnect, says Bjørgan.
A CORRECT INDUSTRIAL MOVE
– This is a correct industrial move for both companies, and through this transaction a bigger and more complete vendor is built. The market demands consolidations, says chairman Steffen Syvertsen in Otera AS.
Otera AS is a company in Agder Energi, and has since 2009 been the owner of Otera XP. The growth of the company has been very good in this period. Syvertsen is confident that the subsidiary ends up in good hands, and that the employees of Oslo based Otera XP will be an important addition in the upcoming developement.
Through the sale Otera wish to strengthen the commitment to electro- and transport projects in both Norway and Sweden.
The agreement was conducted today, and agreed upon 9th of mars 2017.
