UBConnect INT Serbia, part of the Norwegian UBConnect Group, has signed its first engineering agreement in Serbia with RATEL (Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services), a Serbian state agency. After several years of successful engineering projects in Norway and Scandinavia, and having specialized on areas such as Mobile and Fiber Networks, DAB and Tetra, UBConnect will start with similar services in The Balkans.
RATEL has planned to deploy sensors for electromagnetic field in order to create nationwide EMF monitoring systems. In the first phase, UBConnect is the main contractor and responsible of designing and installing a number of sites for RF spectrum and non-ionizing radiation monitoring. All sites are roof-tops and UBConnect will assist with project management, site visits, technical documentation, execution of civil work, power supply and sensor supports, and sensor installations. The project completion is expected to be at the end of 2018.
UBConnect INT Serbia has strategically sought after these types of projects to enter its home market, using the experience from similar projects in Scandinavia. UBConnect is one of the largest Norwegian investors in Serbia, and this will be the first turnkey implementation project the company performs in this market. For UBConnect this is a natural first step in becoming an international service provider outside the Nordics.
